  5. This role will almost certainly lead to a specialist role for the right candidate in short order, at MCS more than 75% of our team are long-term employees.

 

The Role Itself: All Rounder ICT Technician,

As an all-rounded IT Technical role, you’ll be a crucial part of our operations & technical services teams, providing a wide range of technical support and solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  1. Workshop Repairs (PC’s, Laptops etc. Design & build Custom-built computers: You’ll handle diagnosis & repairs and new builds for both retail and managed service provider (MSP) clients.
  2. Mixed IT Support: You will assist both retail and MSP clients remotely using our wide range of support tools & services, fixing up software & common software issues, such as Domain, Hosting, DNS & Office 365/G-suite setup & diagnostics etc.
  3. On-site Support: Servicing a range of Retail, MSP, and Third-Party clients,
  4. Retail Sales: You’ll also be involved in retail shop sales & assistance with quoting some more technical solutions.
  5. MSP & Projects Support: Assisting the MSP and Projects teams with servers, networking & wireless and much more.
  6. IT Help Requests: You’ll address IT help requests and queries with professionalism and attention to detail.
  7. Collaboration: Working closely with our Service Coordinator, you’ll manage tickets effectively.
  8. Escalation: When necessary, you’ll escalate IT support requests and handle general administration tasks.
  9. Operational times: Mon-Fri 8:30am – 5:00pm with alteration of defined hours of work will be offered based on a per case maintenance requirement & urgent repair requirement. A very occasional Saturday shift (8:30am – 12:00pm) may be required

Key Attributes We’re Looking For:

  • Strong client first attitude with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and as an individual, 
  • The willingness to multitask and manage multiple jobs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with experience in Microsoft & Apple operating systems.
  • Experience with strong knowledge in hardware & software diagnostics, PC builds, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Experience in Office 365 administration and third-party application support.
  • Punctual, exceptional time management skills.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 24 +months of experience in an IT support role.
  • Certificate III or IV in Information, Digital Media & Technology (preferred but not essential).
  • Familiarity with job management systems & support RMM Toolsets.
  • Must hold a current Australian-issued driver’s license and be able to obtain a Queensland/National police certificate.
